Cryogenic applications such as liquid natural gas (LNG) or high-temp applications such as gas combustion turbine fuel supply lines require specialized tube fittings capable of handling extreme temperatures. I recommend avoiding tube fittings with standard elastomeric sealing for these applications because they are prone to seal degradation and leakage.
Parker’s Seal-Lok Xtreme™ Flat Face Seal tube fitting line was developed to accommodate the performance demands of both cryogenic applications, as well as high-temperature applications. It offers customers a complete solution for natural gas applications and can be used in combination with our Seal-Lok for compressed natural gas (CNG) product to address both CNG and LNG requirements.
Seal-Lok Xtreme is made using a patented metal sealing ring. The metal ring withstands severe temperatures as low as -328°F (-200°C) and as high as 1,200°F (650°C), and it eliminates the chemical compatibility issues that can reduce the life of typical elastomeric seals.
Seal-Lok Xtreme has been extensively tested for the thermal cycle and shock and has performed well with helium mass spectrometer and gas pressure leak testing. The end product achieves fittings that are high vibration resistant and compatible with working pressures up to 5,850 psi.
