National WWII Museum PT305 Restoration Project Benefits from Filtration Donation

Parker’s partnership with the National WWII Museum is helping to bring history to life.Recently, Parker was presented with the opportunity to partner with the National WWII Museum in New Orleans on their PT-305 Restoration Project. The goal of this project is to reclaim a PT boat used during World War II and bring it back into service so that visitors to the museum can experience this important piece of history for themselves.

In April 2007, the PT-305 was secured for this project and was transported to the National WWII Museum campus. Now, with the help of many volunteers, she is being completely restored to her wartime condition and will become a permanent museum exhibit.

Several years in the making, the restoration is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2015, and Parker has played a significant role in restoring this important piece of history. The three Racor 800 Series Filtration Systems that were donated will support the long-term life of the three Packard Machine V12 engines on this vessel. In addition to making and supplying the systems, the Parker team also had them certified to ensure the vessel can support its new assignment of Charters and Historic Events.

Once complete, the restored PT-305 will transport WWII veterans and museum visitors across Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans to the site of the original factory of the Higgins Company, who produced these vessels during the war.
