Environmental sustainability is a hot-button topic in many industries that use Parker products. New technology needs to simultaneously improve the bottom line and ensure that our children will inherit a healthier planet.
In response to the push toward environmental sustainability, we recently expanded our well-known line of Seal-Lok™ O-ring Face Seal (ORFS) tube fittings for compressed natural gas (CNG) applications.
Natural gas is an ideal alternative fuel source because it produces 30 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than gasoline or diesel. The resource is abundant in North America, relatively inexpensive and compatible with a diverse range of industry applications.
Seal-Lok for CNG fittings is tailored to accommodate unique natural gas attributes. Seal-Lok for CNG provides reliable fuel conveyance using an elastomeric seal compound made of hydrogenated nitrile that improves ozone resistance and supports wider temperature range requirements. In addition, it’s a great solution for high-vibration, on-vehicle applications where metal-to-metal sealing is not up to the task.
What’s more, Seal-Lok for CNG is fully tested by TUV (NGV 3.1, ECER110, ISO 15500) for on-vehicle CNG applications.
CNG truck fuel systems
Saddle-mounted and back-of-cab CNG tank systems
CNG passenger vehicle fuel systems
On-vehicle CNG fuel and storage systems
Fleet CNG filling stations
Seal-Lok for CNG is available in tube and hose sizes ranging from ¼” to ¾” (6 mm to 20 mm). These fittings enhance the performance and reliability of CNG tube or hose connections and reduce assembly and disassembly times.
Torque resistance (eliminates damage from over-tightening)
Produces zero clearance for easy plumbing
Superior resistance to vibration
Available in stainless steel, steel and XTR-plated (zinc nickel) steel
Temperature compatibility of -40° to 300°F (-40° to 150°C)
Unlimited reusability due to easily replaceable O-ring
Port options include SAE J1926-1 and ISO 6149-1 straight thread ports and NPT tapered ports
ECER110 regulations (Economic Commission for Europe),
ANSI NGV 3.1-2014/CSA 12.3-2014 for stainless steel and zinc nickel plated steel (Natural Gas Vehicles/Canadian Standards Association)
