Parker Contributes to Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts - Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts - Parker Hannifin Hope for HoustonOn Friday August 25, 2017, Hurricane Harvey made landfall as a category four hurricane in southeast Texas, United States, triggering significant damage and catastrophic flooding. The flooding is being described by officials as unprecedented and it is expected to worsen in the days following. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected by this natural disaster.

Parker Hannifin has 11 facilities and 356 team members in the greater Houston area across four of its operating groups and has three locations in southern Louisiana.  Parker facilities are being assessed for damage and business continuity plans have been activated.

Parker’s first priority has been to make sure that all team members in the area are safe and accounted for - a process that is ongoing.  A second priority is to do what we can to provide immediate support to our team members and to the region generally.

Affected team members in the region should contact their local human resources representative if they have questions or need assistance. Team members should also file a claim with their homeowner’s insurance and visit to apply online and establish an account. Parker has initiated its Employee Disaster Relief Fund, which provides dollars directly to affected team members from The Parker Foundation. Parker has also teamed with the American Red Cross to establish an employee giving portal where Parker team members in the United States can contribute financially to the relief efforts and have those dollars matched one for one by The Parker Foundation. 

A link to the portal is available on the company intranet page and through a widely distributed letter from Parker Hannifin Chairman and CEO Tom Williams.

Former employees and distributor partners are encouraged to contribute directly to Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts on the general Red Cross website by visiting or to donate by phone call 1-800-435-7669.

Parker would like to thank all team members in advance for their kindness and generosity to help those in need and will solidify additional plans to support the relief and recovery efforts in the days and weeks ahead.
