Parker's High Pressure Connectors Europe (HPCE) Division recently completed the process to become designated as a "Best Places to Learn" site in Bielefeld, Germany.
This independent quality certification is granted by AUBI-plus, a German recruiting and training company that links recent graduates with the workforce. The certification is a recent step in HPCE's ongoing efforts to prioritize talent acquisition and retention through effective continuing education and partnerships with local universities and trade schools.
The "Best Places to Learn" seal helps high-performing graduates identify Parker HPCE as an attractive place to begin their careers, and also helps HPCE align its training procedures with current industry standards so that it can remain competitive in talent acquisition.
Input from apprentices, students, and trainees
In order to earn this certification, HPCE participated in a 360° survey that included the division's apprentices and students to determine the efficacy of the division's training program. The survey reviews how well trainees are integrated into the broader organizational culture, how well the organization aligns with industry and internal training standards, the quality and accessibility of trainers, and how well-prepared trainees are to begin working in their field upon completion of the program, among other factors.
"While we cleared the certification standards with above-average scores, the survey provides valuable insight for adjusting our training standards to better meet the needs of incoming apprentices and recent graduates. Through the survey, we are able to identify trending gaps in knowledge so that we may set up our apprentices and students for greater success for years to come."
Denise Heinemann, human resources generalist, Parker HPCE division
Parker HPCE received this three-year certification in March 2019 and celebrated the occasion by displaying a banner at the division headquarters in Bielefeld with the slogan,
"We are working with high pressure – and also on your career."
"Wir arbeiten mit Hochdruck - auch an Deiner Karriere".
The "Best Places to Learn" seal of approval joins HPCE's robust and growing talent acquisition and retention program, which also includes the division's new training center portfolio of partnerships with local universities and trade schools, and talent development initiatives for promising young professionals.
“The ‘Best Place To Learn’ certification is a vital element of our five-year HR strategy. It confirms that we provide young people with outstanding education and training. I am really proud that the hard work of my team has paid off so positively.”
